Updates:

Wow I haven't updated in ages. Curse life and it's inept ability to yank me from the wondrous world of Asail. I so miss everyone, and the characters. I'd love to get this place kicking again. (What else is new? X3) If anyone's willing to help me do so, let me know! ^^

We can NPC any characters missing players for the time being.

Do you guys realize Asail is over FIVE years old? o.o

The bronzerider jumped as Keera's hands clapped together in front of his face. Shards, he'd gone off his little mental score keeping and totally spaced on Keera again - which he'd never have done purposefully otherwise. And he likely wouldn't have had to have the wits near scared out of him in her attempt to get his attention. Usually he paid rapt attention to whatever Keera said.

Damn Casey.

He wasn't even here, K'ver hadn't met him, and he had somehow managed to undermine the bronzerider. Grudgingly K'ver mentally admitted that evened out the score, and then mentally kicked himself for continuing to keep score in the first place.

It was then that Keera appeared in front of him again, a suspicious look on her face and the bronzerider kicked himself again. He'd totally just spaced on everything Keera again and hadn't caught anything she'd said between the time she'd clapped until just now. He only had time to half open his mouth to respond when she was poking at his face and demanding to know if he was ignoring her or not.

The bronzerider sputtered, fighting to keep the ever familiar and seemingly constant blush from his face. How did one say 'I'm-sorry-I'm-just-a-jealous-male-who-has-immediately-jumped-to-the-conclusion-that-this-

ego-and-attempt-to-convince-myself-I'm-better-than-him'?

"I was just... I wasn't ignoring you Keera. I was just... uh..." Mentally K'ver was past kicking himself. He was beating himself now. Shard you between Casey, you've proven yourself a formidable opinion. The bronzerider mentally joined his dragon in sulking. K'ver - 1. Casey - 2.

On Keera's shoulder Snar gave an affirmative chirrup, rubbing her head against the woman's cheek before shooting K'ver a glare. He wasn't paying attention again...

If Raniveth held any scrap of sanity in his current state, it was unlikely anyone would have been aware of it. He was of a single mind - maul Rerith. So far as he was concerned at this current point in time, it was only she, and him. No one else was around, no one else mattered.

As she screamed a challenge, Raniveth echoed in kind, screeching his own challenge as she dodged his attack. Before he had time to respond or retaliate, she'd lunged forward, rolling him onto his back, and into a very vulnerable position. Screeching in anger he attempted to roll to his side in an attempt to regain his feet, kicking out violently with his hind legs as he did so.

((K'ver's jealousy amuses me. XD))

"Indeed, Snar. And here I'd thought that we all had our boys so well-trained!" Keera sighed. 'We' referring to Keera, Ink, and Snar, of course. The boys were indicated with an irritable wave of her hand, gesturing to K'ver- and by extension, his bronze. Oh, but not including in that grouping. He was a good boy.

"They should be using your little husband as an example, don't you think?" she purred, scritching a fingernail gently along one of Aorc's eyeridges. "Look at him~ paying all attention to us and not sulking a bit!" Aorc chirped proudly, picking up on the fact that he'd apparently done something right. And oooh K'ver hadn't~! The fire lizard chirped again, arching his neck with all the attitude of looking down his nose at K'ver.

While Aorc settled happily in his brief status as the favored bronze (flitt, dragon, rider, or otherwise), Keera continued her rambling conversation with Snar- though the words were meant for K'ver. But ah, what's the point of talking when the other is busy staring off into space? Honestly, Snar was a better conversationalist by far. "Now, for Athenne and my Gather dresses! Aunt's working on the patterns and cut and all now, but she's still yet to choose a fabric and thread color. And you know that's the next point of a dress! It's got to be something with a difference between the two dresses, but you know they've got to match too! And match our dragons, and flitts, and mine must match K'ver. But I've no idea what his Gather wear is. Personally, I want my dress to be something light-colored, to stand out in the dark and to be bright in the sunlight. but how would that go with my complexion?"

---

Rerith shrieked in fury, recoiling from her brother's attack. Fool! She had had him pinned and yet he still sought to overthrow her? To kick at her and attempt to harm her? Well, she would have none of that! And honestly, to think such an obvious attack should hit her. She was wiser than that to leave her belly unguarded, surely.

She scrambled away and off Raniveth- though she would not consider so inelegant and hasty as to be defined as 'scrambling' -to a safer distance of two dragonlengths away. There she circled in an arch about the fallen king, hissing a challenge. A challenge and a mockery for him to try to stand and fight.

Snar gave a happy trill, pleased and proud that Aorc was behaving himself and being attentive where K'ver was not. A pleasant chirp left the little green as she began chattering back to Keera, further praising her bronze as she sent Keera, Aorc, and K'ver image after image of Aorc's attentiveness towards her. Her bronze was the picture of what a bronze should be.

This was followed with a loving croon towards Aorc, and another glare to K'ver. Was he paying attention yet? Well, Snar would pay attention. The green's head turned back to Keera as she contuned talking about her gather dress.

The rapid unexpected mental barrage of images the green had sent had managed to catch the bronzerider's attention, and he finally got himself to focus on Keera, now that her attention was on Snar, which would of course, figure.

His mind went temporarily numb once more at the mention that she wished her dress to match his Gather wear. In truth, he hadn't really put much thought into what he'd wear. Though now his mind was furiously going through his wardrobe, but nothing seemed befitting of Keera. Perhaps he'd have something made up... In red maybe? She certainly seemed fond of the color... but then maybe she would feel it was too dark, she had said she'd wanted something light...

---

Raniveth made an undignified scramble to regain his feet as quickly as quickly as possible, lest Rerith thought to press another attack. Once his footing had been regained, he mirrored Rerith, circling as well, hissing his own challenge back at her, for now that he was once more on his feet he did not feel so vulnerable.

His wings were flared out partially, his neck arched and head low as he circled. The two dragons probably looked a mockery of two felines dancing around one another, about to clash in a spray of fur and claws. But there would be no flying fur when these two combatants clashed. Dragons did not fight, and when they did the occurances were rare.

Both Raniveth and Rerith were Blacks. Black fights nearly always ended in a betweening. Their father was proof of that. Every fight Satenith had partaken in - usually fights he caused himself - had ended with his opponent going between.

None of this mattered to Raniveth though. All he saw was Rerith as she circled opposite him...
